Spoek Mathambo has just been nominated for the 2011 MUSIC OF BLACK ORIGIN (MOBO) Awards. This award ceremony is to give recognition to artists of any race or nationality performing black music. Spoek Mathambo is placed in the “Best African Act” category alosng with other acts like D’banj, Wizkid, Fatoumata Diawara and Liquid Deep.

Fans will vote and based on those votes, the winners will be announced in Scotland on 5 October 2011. The Award ceremony is going to be a memorable ceremony which will have performances from Boyz II Men, Jessie J
Winners will be picked based on fan voting and will be announced in Glasgow, Scotland on October 5. The ceremony will feature performances from the likes of Boys II Men, Jessie J, Katy B and Alexis Jordan. Superstar Jason Derulo will be co-hosting the award ceremony.
